TEAM PARENT INFO
Before the Meet Starts:
- Upon arrival you will sign in and be given a lanyard, clipboard with heat sheets, pen, and a sharpie.
- Be at your tent early to welcome the swimmers in your age group by name. That means you will need to leave extra early to the meet to get parked and to your assigned age group tent.
- You will have a sheet of all your swimmers on your clipboard so you can check them in.
- Write the swimmers First initial. Last name on their upper right shoulder with the sharpie. Sunscreen afterwards or writing will not stay on. Example: B.Marshall
- Take your age group to warm-up. The coaches will let you know when they are ready for your group.
- Let Coaches know immediately when a swimmer is not checked in by warm-up.
During the Meet:
- Line your swimmers up in heat order (refer to heat sheet) for each race and each stroke.
- When the age group before you is lining up for their races take that as your cue to get your swimmers ready (goggles, swim cap, etc.)
- Take the assigned lined up swimmers to the ready bench (at the end of the pool. Ready bench volunteers will get them in correct lanes and ready to swim their races.
- After each race ensure you have all of your swimmers back in the tent.
- They can eat a snack, use the restroom, and play in tents w/ games & tablets until the next stroke race.
NO ROUGH HOUSING OR HIGH ENERGY PLAY
- Younger swimmers (10 & under) give an opportunity to use the restrooms after a stroke has finished and before you start to line up.
- Kids 10 & under must be escorted by a team parent to bathrooms & concessions.
- 11 & up swimmers must tell you where they are going (bathrooms, $ from parents, etc). You can determine if they can go. Let them know your expectations of their return time.
- When you are given ribbons to hand out, have all your swimmers put away their games/electronics and call out the ribbon winner’s names. Make it a big deal and celebrate a job well done!
- Make sure there is always an adult with the kids in your tent. Do not leave any kids unattended. If you need to use the restroom or watch your child swim, please make sure another adult is in your tent.
- 6 & under Team Parent cannot leave until all kids have been picked up by their family.
After the Meet:
- Make sure all trash is cleaned up.
- Make sure you check out each swimmer to their parents or family member after the meet is over.
- Mention to the parent any pertinent information about the swimmer.
- Once all swimmers are checked out, return all clipboards, markers, lanyards etc. back to the check -in table.
Helpful Suggestion & Age Rules:
